Lesson is aimed at developing students’ understanding of the General Election. Lesson looks at the history of voting, what happens in a General Election, who the main parties and leaders are & what the main pledges of each party are. Students have a choice of tasks based on speech writing. They can either write a speech arguing that the voting age should be 16 or write a speech arguing which political party should be in power.

A lesson which looks at life in the trenches for soldiers during WW1. Students are given information about trench life including a diary entry and a poem. Students will write a description based on trench life from the perspective of a soldier during WW1. Differentiated using aim/challenge/super challenge.

A fun lesson introducing students to the language of Shakespeare. Includes a glossary for students to use to translate. Students translate Shakespearean words into modern English and vice versa. Students eventually use the glossary to write their own script in pairs which they will then present to the class. Please leave a review, I love to hear your feedback :)

2 x lessons on the topic of the death penalty. Sources from 19th century and modern day. Lesson 1 teaches question 5 and lesson 2 teaches question 1 and 4. The document with the sources contains questions 1-5 so can be used if you also want to teach questions 2 and 3. Lessons differentiated using aim/challenge/super challenge and the GCSE mark scheme.
