Students have a choice of tasks based on speech writing. They can either write a speech arguing that the voting age should be 16 or write a speech arguing which political party should be in power.

A lesson which looks at life in the trenches for soldiers during WW1. Students are given information about trench life including a diary entry and a poem. AQA Language Paper 1. 2 lesson on questions 2 and 3 on this paper using the text ‘1984.’ Differentiated and planned using the GCSE mark scheme.

A fun lesson introducing students to the language of Shakespeare. Includes a glossary for students to use to translate. Students translate Shakespearean words into modern English and vice versa.
